Logo ideas
I want to get some decals made, but need help on a logo. I was just going to go with the one I have but would really like something unique! If any one can come up with an idea let me know I have photoshop and can make the image just need some help in creativity. Or if you have an idea and can create it, please do! I will pay you in free decals and beer/soda.

Re: Logo ideas
I have an idea using what you have as a base (with a change in size/proportion). Make the top of the C a mountain/rocky and have a jeep (the generic jeep symbol you see on trail markers) climbing or straddling

Re: Logo ideas
This is what I have come up with just in the last couple days for a logo
Let me know what you think... I am thinking I might change the Jeep to the Colorado "C" Maybe like Walts idea above (need to figure out how to do it) (I am going for a general 4WD group, not just a Jeep club is my reasoning) I thought the topomap background would be neat but it kind of washes out the text.
Please let me know what you think, I won't be offended by your criticism!

Re: Logo ideas
If you use the side view of a Jeep, then it can be associated with trail markers since that's what they use to designate trails. Maybe changing (just) the text color will make it stand out more.
Another idea is to make it rectangular with the long ways up & down, with a sideways Jeep symbol - to resemble a trail marker.

This is pretty rough, but just trying to make something resembling your idea
I like the circle logo just because I would like it to be a decal some one would put on their jeep... I am going to try and mess with the circle logo, with the side profile jeep in there, or maybe even the trail maker in the middle. The problem is I think I "flattened" the circle logo file I have so I might have to start over since I may not be able to go in a edit the individual elements.
Re: Logo ideas
This works
I like the non-green background better, the green one the Cokorado symbol seems to fade.

I dig the blue with red/yellow colorado emblem. Any thought about shirts/hats with the logo?

The plan right now is just to order a bunch of decals/stickers, I promised the first people who led trail runs that I would give them free stickers. I would also like to give them out to people who come on runs for the first time with this group.
I am hoping to get a few more people to respond, maybe some more suggestions. Shopping around stickers are cheap (.30-.50 cents each) even doing them with a UV protectant (Outdoor, stick them on the side of a car durability) the problem is most places want an minimum order of 250 stickers so it will be a bit of an investment on my part I guess but its what I promised in the beginning so I plan to follow through. I just want as much feedback as possible before I have 250 stickers!
If there is interest in T-Shirts or hats I am more than happy to coordinate that if people want to purchase them. Or if any one wants they can take my logo and have whatever they want done.

Re: Logo ideas
What about a gear outer ring rather than circular? Could also remove the jeeps to really tick off the "purists" if you want to make it appear more of a general group. However, I think not having some sort of vehicle would make it a little more confusing as to what it's for. I do really like the topo background. Also, maybe some members wouldn't mind helping to feed the kitty to get these in production once finalized? I wouldn't mind kicking in a Twenty or two to help out. Anybody else?

Yeah I think with the jeeps on the mountain I need to make them the same color blue as the mountains and circles. That way they don't stick out like a sore thumb but they are still there. I appreciate the feed back and I will mess with the gear idea a bit.
Re: Logo ideas
There is with the gear, if you had a different idea for a gear, find one on google and post the link.
Re: Logo ideas
Tire instead of gear?
Looking good though

Re: Logo ideas
Can either the tire or gear can be just a thinner outline? The thick border of them takes away from the rest of the logo. Just my 2 cents and like usual, I have ideas with no knowledge of how to do it! Could one jeep be running over hikers while the other squashes some mountain bikes?

Re: Logo ideas
Think I like it better without the tire or gear as it does distract some, but when making stickers, the main part will be smaller to get it all in the same size sticker.
You must also like Onleone's stick people stickerCould one jeep be running over hikers while the other squashes some mountain bikes?

Re: Logo ideas
Walt,
I agree the tire or gear clutters it a bit and will make the rest smaller. I think I will just keep it simple with the border, I am going to do the jeeps on the mountain the same blue as everything else. I will post up a final image when I get a chance.

Re: Logo ideas
Opinion needed, On stickers do you guys think a solid white background, or I can do them clear. I thought clear would make them blend in better since the color of your jeep would be the background although it would make the decal harder/easier to read depending on the color of your rig... Basically if its blue your F'd... If your rig is white or even yellow (Walt) it would probably look really good.
Re: Logo ideas
I vote clear (works on windows good too) but I would proudly display however is decided. THANKS again Lucas for coming up with this and all the work you've put into it. I've met great people to wheel and wrench with through it.

Re: Logo ideas
Sorry Walt, I disagree. I believe white would be better. With the blue, I'd think it wouldn't stand out on most vehicles. White, yellow, and red being exceptions. Darker color paints will blend it in and not stand out. And most vehicles now have tinted windows which will cause the same issue. So white would be my vote. Now we need a third vote to break the tie, or flip a coin!

I think I found a company that will do runs of 100 decals... before I was only finding min. orders of 250. I think I am going to do 100 of each which will be about the same cost as doing 250.
