June 21/22
I have the weekend of the 21/22nd of June off, who else can get out on the trail?? I know there has been talk of Holy Cross it maybe clear by then but I am up for anything.
My summer is absolutely F'd at work but I think I should get out once a month on a weekend.

I should be off. The issue will be of what is passable that early.
Holy cross I'm betting won't be. Battlement Mesa is likely but will probably be pretty sloppy on the way up. Lead King loop may be open as well. Have to just see

Glad to hear!!
Just drove to Denver today and there is a crap load of snow up there still, but we've got about a month so we'll see I guess.
BFYTW I will keep you posted, if I run into any Guys with Department of Wildlife or Forest Service at work I will try to get some intel.

Cool. I also use this as a handy reference for alpine trails info.

Walt,
I think I camped on Lincoln Creek Road last year. I think you could probably do the whole trail in 30 min or so in a Subaru. However I did not do the whole thing. I wanted to get up to some of the lakes but never went the whole way, weather turned to crap and we were tired... It was actually the day we did Pearl Pass last year.
I am open to any idea's we could possibly combine it with another trail in the area or head up to Leadville after.
I am still hopeful for Holy Cross but I know it might really limit who can come with as it sounds like it is a pretty difficult trail.
I know the Crawlorado group runs Chinamans gulch about every weekend it seems, I would like to see what all the hype is about. If the trails are still snowed in up here it could be an option but it is a drive from this side of the mountain but it might be a good way to meet up with some of our front range members.... We still have lots of time to come up with a plan.

Oh, I posted in the wrong place, I meant for Lincoln to be this Sun. It is longer than 30 minutes though and pretty scenic. I've only gone as far as Grizzly Reservoir.

Holy Cross is a rush but def not for everyone. French creek is a booger and the off camber climb at the tree roots after it is intimidating. I haven't done Chinamans but I'm told by other who have that it's down right wicked. As in if your timid about body damage or carnage you may wanna pass. But that's hearsay. As long as the snow is clear I would love to play at any of the above.
